The tournament, whose major aim is to raise funds for charity, featured players drawn from different golf clubs, as well as members of staff of Total Energies Upstream Companies.

Playing in the men’s (staff) category, Onu recorded 74 nett to win the first prize, which is a N150, 000 worth voucher. Railard Michael ended with 77 nett to place second, while Akpos Adonkie came third with 79 nett.

Abdullahi Jumai, who came for the competition from Abuja, won the ladies category (79nett), while Florence Ilaka came first in the ladies category (staff) with a nett score of 119.

Ogemdi Akalamudo was second in the ladies category (staff) with an 84 nett score, while Nkoli Morka (89 nett) took the third position.

The highlight of the programme was the donation of N2 million each to two Southeast-based charities, Little Sisters of the Poor Home for the Elderly and St. Joseph’s Home for the Elderly and Handicapped.

Total Energies encouraged guests and staff present at the event to donate to the two charities as they have done in every edition of the tournament.

Speaking at the end of the tournament, Total Energies Managing Director, Mike Sangster, said the essence of the programme is to give and appreciate the joy of giving.

He said, “as in then past years, another set of two charities will be the beneficiaries of your traditional generosity. We thank all golfers who have contributed to the success of this charity gesture since it was launched.

“At the centre of our ambition and strategy is social responsibility, improving the lives of the people and country where we operate.
