One thing Rodgers has over Ange as Tottenham star who's seen both reveals the key difference

James Maddison has offered a unique insight into the managerial differences between Ange Postecoglou and Brendan Rodgers.

The current Tottenham star - who plays under Ange in North London - has experienced starring under both during his career. He had a long period with Rodgers and Leicester City with his journey not quite as long so far with Postecoglou, but someone who the England international believes is a 'brilliant man'. The inside story into both will be of particular interest to Celtic fans due to the success both have had and continue to have currently in Glasgow's east end.

Maddison - talking to Golf Life - has told how Ange keeps his player and manager relationships socially to a minimum and doesn't let bonds between him and his troops get too close while Rodgers is very more hands on and the type you can chap on his office door and sit and have a coffee and a chat. Both are rated very highly by the midfielder but are just as he puts 'different'.

He explained: “He is definitely no-nonsense. He’s a good man (Ange). He’s a unique human being. You can tell he’s a brilliant man and when I spoke to him before I signed the first thing he said to me was congratulating me on the birth of my twins when I first met him.

“So I knew straight away he’s a good man but he’s also someone who will not let the manager and player relationship get too tight. And that is just his way.

“For example like Brendan Rogers who I had for five years at Leicester, he was very arm around you and made you feel so good. Like you could go in his office for a coffee and talk. They’re both great men but just different. Ange keeps that manager and player relationship socially to a minimal, he wouldn’t mind me saying that I don’t think.
