“One of our brightest sparks” – Cardiff City fan pundit debates Max Watters decision Morison needs to make ahead of Norwich City

It has been an extremely busy transfer window for Cardiff City so far this summer.

At the time of writing, the club have brought in 13 new arrivals to the Cardiff City Stadium, with loan deals and free transfers being heavily utilised.

As such, it will be interesting to see how things shape up on Saturday afternoon, when the club get their 2022/23 Championship campaign underway.

It is a tough test in Norwich City up first for the Bluebirds, but, it will be in front of their own fans at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Despite the vast number of new additions, one area that still needs strengthening is the forward position.

At present, Max Watters looks the most likely to lead the line for Steve Morison’s side, and as such, we asked FLW’s Cardiff City fan pundit Ben Johnsey for his thoughts on whether or not he should start versus the Canaries.

“I would start Max Watters on Saturday.” Ben told FLW.

“I think he’s had the entirety of pre-season, and he’s done well in pre-season, scored three goals in four games. That was against League One and League Two opposition, though.

“He’s looked one of our brightest sparks, not just the goals, but his build up play. His hold up play has massively improved compared to what we saw in the seasons gone by and he’s really looking to be at the top of his confidence right now and I think he deserves to start on Saturday.

“It is hopeful that Cardiff look to bring in another striker before Saturday, or at least before the deadline and even if they do, I think Max Watters deserves to
