Omar Berrada knows what Manchester United must do to recreate Man City transfer success

Manchester United's incoming co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is under no illusions of the challenge the club has to catch up to their near rivals Manchester City.

This season, as has been the case for most of the past decade, the blue side of the city has been streaks ahead of the red. Where Pep Guardiola has made success look effortless, United have been stuck in the doldrums bouncing between the Champions League, Europa League and even no European football at all with title challenges extremely rare.

On Saturday night, the Reds announced Omar Berrada as their incoming CEO. While an official start date is not known, the end of the season is being earmarked for his first day on the job.

Having been head of football operations at City, we can expect Berrada to undertake a strong review of recruitment at United. One step he may wish to replicate from his time at the Etihad is how he managed to help build a team packed to the brim with superstar talent.
