Oleksandr Usyk warns Anthony Joshua over ‘bullying’ members of his team

Oleksandr Usyk claims Anthony Joshua ‘bullied’ members of his team in the aftermath of their fight on Saturday evening but has warned against picking on his entourage as they are ‘horrible street fighters’.

Usyk retained his WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO heavyweight titles after beating Joshua via split decision in Saudi Arabia.

After the fight, Joshua tossed two of Usyk’s belt out of the ring and stormed towards his dressing room before returning to deliver an impromptu speech to the crowd.

Joshua was inconsolable after the third defeat of his career, reacting angrily to members of his own team who were trying to calm him down, as well as words of praise from Usyk and Vasiliy Lomachenko, who was supporting his fellow Ukrainian in Jeddah.

When asked about Joshua’s reaction after his loss, Usyk said: ‘I didn’t feel much at this time when he was a bit frustrated. Just common emotions. It’s all good. We just need to communicate a little bit.

‘The good things that he said about me is something that I accept. But I don’t accept it deep to my heart because I want to stay a humble person.

‘I don’t want my pride inside me to go bigger. That’s something like that. I don’t believe in good words.

‘I feel nothing but respect for Anthony Joshua.

‘I saw he was a bit emotional and he was bullying some of my teammates.
