Oleksandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua 2 weigh-in: Usyk shocks as AJ gets heavier

Oleksandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua is gearing up with the rematch a matter of hours away rather than days, with the weigh-in giving us a major insight into the bout prior to them stepping into the ring together.

The first fight in 2021 saw Usyk send shockwaves through the heavyweight division by completely outclassing Joshua to dethrone him as a heavyweight champion for the second time in his career.

Joshua had a size advantage which obviously then included a weight advantage, with the Brit weighing in at 240lbs compared to the 221lbs of Usyk, although he failed to impose it in the first fight.

Both fighters have just weighed-in ahead of their second fight, which not only sees them battle it out for the unified WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO titles, but also the Ring Magazine belt after it was vacated by Tyson Fury who has appeared to actually retire for good now, quashing any hopes of him returning for an undisputed bout with the winner of this one.

It looks like a similar tale with the measurements barely changing from the first fight, with both going up in their weights, but only by a small margin so it could be a similar contest to the first fight, although strategies will be different to try and get the upper hand

Usyk appeared to have bulked up considerably, but is coming in just 0.5 lbs heavier than the first fight, shocking us all at 221.5 lbs, whilst Joshua has added a little bit more, but not much, to register 244.5lbs on the scales, just 4,5lbs up on the first fight between the two.
