Oleksandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua 2: Mad details of Ukrainian's training regime

Oleksandr Usyk is leaving no stone unturned as he looks to defend his titles in a rematch with Anthony Joshua later this month.

The WBA, WBO, and IBF World Heavyweight Champion is undergoing a punishing training schedule knowing that Joshua will be desperate to avenge his loss in September last year.

And fight fans will notice that Usyk who has previously fought, and enjoyed great success, as a cruiserweight has bulked up considerably and is looking like a formidable heavyweight.

Before his 2020 points win over Derek Chisora, he claimed his ideal weight would be 16st, but for that London bout he could only reach 15st 7lb.

When he convincingly beat AJ at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, he had managed to hit 15st 11lb of pure muscle and retained his speed, while his rival was 17st.

He looks well in excess of his dream weight — which could mean Joshua is in for an even tougher night. Many experts have praised Usyk’s speed and boxing ability.

His new frame means he can make strides towards also matching Joshua physically while hopefully retaining his speed and movement.

Usyk is now tapering down, as his build up enters the final phase, however former light-welterweight world champion Amir Khan has visited his training camp and can confirm that the champion has been training three times a day in order to be in peak condition.
