Oleksandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua 2: AJ told to copy Wladimir Klitschko as rematch with Usyk nears

Anthony Joshua has been told to copy Wladimir Klitschko by a sparring partner as he prepares for his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.

The British superstar is on a mission to reclaim his former belts from the Ukrainian at the end of the month.

Joshua, 32, challenges Usyk, 35, for the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO titles in a rematch in Saudi Arabia on August 20.

He faces the seemingly impossible task of having to become the first person to beat Usyk in a professional boxing ring.

But Olympic bronze medallist Frazer Clarke believes Joshua has every chance of beating Usyk but only if he copies his former opponent Klitschko.

In his column for Sky Sports, Clarke spoke out in defence of AJ by writing: “He’s under no illusions. He’s going to have to be the best he’s ever been to beat Usyk. I think he’s going to have to be better than he’s ever been.

“Better than the Wladimir Klitschko night. I feel like he has to be Klitschko-esque. That night there were ups and downs and he had to come back. He might just have to do that.

“He’s got every chance. From what I’ve seen him put in on a daily and a weekly basis, he’s given himself every chance and that’s all you can ask from a fighter in a camp. If you give everything you’ve got to give, with the experience and the skill he’s already got, he’s given himself every chance.

“There’s a lot of people out there talking about Usyk being so good and this and that. He is very good. There’s no doubt.

“He’s a great fighter. But he’s a human. If AJ hits him on the chin more than once, he’s only human, he goes down, he probably doesn’t get back up.
