Oleksandr Usyk team send clear Tyson Fury message ahead of undisputed heavyweight title fight

Oleksandr Usyk has cheekily commented that Tyson Fury appears "skinny" just days before their undisputed world title showdown.

The pair are set to face off this Saturday in a bid to become the first undisputed heavyweight world champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999. The start of fight week was marred by an unsavoury incident when Fury's father, John, headbutted a member of Usyk's team, resulting in a bloody wound and a significant cut on his forehead.

As Fury made his grand entrance on Tuesday evening in Riyadh, Usyk's promoter Alex Krassyuk quipped: "He looks skinny, who is the middleweight now? That's because he's nervous, when you are nervous you lose weight or gain weight, like his father."

Usyk echoed these sentiments, observing about his opponent: "He looks smaller a little bit, light skinny. Fury then dismissed talks of him coming in at career-lightest weight for the fight. ".

Fury, however, brushed aside suggestions that he would be entering the ring at his career-lightest weight for the fight. "I'll tell you my weight, it's about 19-stone. I wish I was [240/250lb] but I'm around 19-stone.

"I've been in good shape, I've two or three camps back to back. People say to me all the time 'You're looking skinny' but I'm weighing the exact same on the scales I've been using for the last 10 years," he retorted, reports the Mirror.
