Oleksandr Usyk's been 'sending sparring partners home' ahead of AJ fight as they can't keep up

Oleksandr Usyk is gearing up for the first defence of his heavyweight belts next month when he steps foot in the ring with Anthony Joshua for their rematch in Saudi Arabia.

The Ukrainian is the unified heavyweight champion and he hasn’t fought since September when he defeated Joshua, with the Brit also not fighting since his defeat to Usyk.

His absence has been due to him helping Ukraine’s efforts to fight Russia, stepping onto the frontline to protect his country, however, the Ukrainian military convinced him to make his boxing return and have his rematch with Joshua.

With the fight just around the corner, the excitement is building and news is coming out around the fight, with Usyk’s training sounding interesting.

He has apparently been sending his sparring partners home after they couldn’t keep up with him, he’s clearly not taking any chances in his rematch and wants to push himself to the limit.

After becoming unified champion of the heavyweight division after just three fights shows us just how good he is and why these sparring partners are struggling and why he was able to defeat Joshua in the first place, he’s one of the best pound-for-pound fighters out there.

Undefeated Kazakh heavyweight, Nursultan Amanzholov is one of the fighters to have been training with Usyk, with his manager opening up on the experiences of his fight camp.

Aamir Ali said: “He was sending heavyweights, six foot six and whatnot back home, they can’t keep up, Nursultan was the one of the only heavyweights that he kept on throughout the whole camp. He would actually challenge him and give him a very tough time.
