Oleksandr Usyk has clause to fight Filip Hrgovic on May 18 if Tyson Fury pulls out again

Oleksandr Usyk has a 'secret' clause in his contract for his fight against Tyson Fury that will see him take on Filip Hrgovic if the Gypsy King pulls out of their undisputed showdown for a second time.

Fury and Usyk were meant to fight in Saudi Arabia tonight, but Fury had to pull out two weeks ago because he got a cut while training. The big fight, which will decide the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999, was quickly moved to May 18. If either boxer pulls out of that date, they'll have to pay the other one $10million from their contract. Usyk also made sure that if Fury doesn't show up, he'll fight mandatory challenger Hrgovic.

Usyk's coach Sergey Lapin told Fruity Slots: "I hope Usyk will get the chance to settle the score with Fury on May 18, but if he continues to run, then we have a clause in the agreement to replace Fury with Filip Hrgovic.

Hrgovic is the back-up opponent, so the show will go on regardless of whether he shows up, this was also confirmed by His Excellency Turki Al Sheikh."

Usyk has been waiting to fight Fury since he beat Daniel Dubois last August in Poland. He and Fury had agreed to fight on December 23, but Fury had to ask for a delay when he was knocked down and almost beaten by Francis Ngannou last October.

Lapin thinks Fury's performance against the ex-UFC world champ shows he's not as good as he used to be. "Let's say he did get cut - through a head guard and with large training gloves - can you imagine what will happen to his head when he receives a bomb from the Usyk in a ten-ounce glove?" he said.

"If Fury finally dares to enter the ring on May 18, then it will be a terrible dream for him, he has never boxed with a boxer of this level in his life. Ngannou
