Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's prediction about rising Manchester United star is about to come true
Manchester United signed Amad when he'd made just three starts for Atalanta.
United agreed a deal to sign the then 18-year-old winger in October 2020 for £19million rising to £37m. That was a large sum for someone so unproven. Eyebrows were raised but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer backed Amad to vindicate the fee.
“As a club, we have followed Amad for a number of years and having watched him myself, I believe he is one of the most exciting young prospects in the game," said an enthusiastic Solskjaer. “It will take time for him to adapt but his speed, vision and fantastic dribbling ability will stand him in good stead to make the transition. He is a player with all of the raw attributes that are needed to be an important player for Manchester United in the years to come.”

It has taken three years and two loans away for Amad to look like the player that Solskjaer described, but there's a strong feeling he may prove worth the wait. While Amad's six-month loan with Rangers was forgettable, he became a main man during 12 months spent with Sunderland.
His progress was halted at United last season due to an injury which meant he was absent for the first half of the campaign, but Amad ended 2023/24 with a flourish. Erik ten Hag has challenged him to make new the season 'his' and the winger is approaching it on the back of an impressive pre-season.
Many believe this could be the year Amad enjoys a full breakthrough and earns a regular starting role in the team, which would mean disrupting last season's settled attacking trio of Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford. Amad's
