Old Trafford transfer news: Yves Bissouma ‘will be on Man United’s list’ for summer move

Manchester United will be interested in sealing a deal to take Brighton & Hove Albion star Yves Bissouma to Old Trafford in the summer, according to talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook.

The Red Devils failed to welcome any reinforcements during the January transfer window, but it appears they have already set their sights on strengthening the squad at the end of the season.

According to respected journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Manchester United were one of three Premier League clubs to enter intense negotiations with Brighton as they attempted to seal a deal for Bissouma on deadline day.

Hawkins suggests Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur were also in discussions with the south coast club and Brighton were holding out for more than £37million.

It came after The Athletic had initially claimed it would take a bid in the region of £50million to prise Bissouma away from his current employers.

However, Bissouma will have entered the final 12 months of his £25,000-per-week contract by the time the summer transfer window opens for business, so there is the possibility that Manchester United – and the defensive midfielder’s other suitors – could strike a cut-price deal.

But it may still prove difficult to welcome Bissouma to Old Trafford as Seagulls boss Graham Potter has insisted the 25-year-old is in no rush to depart the Amex Stadium.
