Official announcement soon: Ex reveals GSB to secure big in-house agreement at West Ham

Insider ExWHUemployee has revealed that West Ham United will ‘officially’ announce a new contract for Lukasz Fabianski soon.

As things stand, the Hammers goalkeeper will see his contract expire in the summer. But, having played 30 Premier League games this season, it’s clear he is still rated by manager David Moyes and has had plenty to offer despite now being 36 years old.

With that in mind, it may please some supporters to hear that the club have apparently sorted new terms with the player and that the deal will be announced publically in the near future.

Indeed, while speaking on the West Ham Way podcast, Ex stated that the contract is essentially all agreed.

He said (56:10): “Fabianski’s new deal is pretty much all agreed anyway.

“But I think they are going to announce it officially, soon.”

TIF thoughts on Lukasz Fabianski and West Ham…

Before this latest update on Fabianski, there did seem to be some uncertainty about the goalkeeping situation at West Ham.

Indeed, with the 36-year-old’s contract expiring in the summer, and backup Alphonse Areola only there on a loan – and his option to make the transfer permanent not yet triggered – some supporters must have been wondering who was gonna by the club’s number one by the start of next season.

Now though, if Ex’s information is right, it looks as though these doubts will be put to bed in the very near future. Considering the former Arsenal man has kept seven clean sheets in the league, helping the Irons push for a spot in Europe next season, it’s fair to say it’s a sensible move by the club.
