'Obscene' or a 'no-brainer' - Man City fans split over reported Erling Haaland deal
Manchester City's interest in Erling Haaland is the transfer saga that has everyone talking. Given the reports that came out earlier in the week, that doesn't look like changing anytime soon.
Various reports suggest that City lead the race to sign the 21-year-old Borussia Dortmund striker and that they have in fact agreed personal terms that include a salary of £500,000 per week. While the Manchester Evening News understands that, while talk of personal terms being agreed may be a little premature, talks have taken place between club and player.
Excitement surrounding a potential deal has understandably surged, with many City fans dreaming about the partnership Haaland and fellow generational talent Phil Foden could form in Pep Guardiola's side. However, not everyone is necessarily thrilled by the prospect of signing a superstar.

The positives first. Haaland is undoubtedly one of the best strikers in world football. Having scored 80 goals in 81 matches for Dortmund, he would bring as close as you can get to a guarantee of goals.
With the release clause in the youngster's current contract set at £63m and agent fees and signing-on bonuses a possibility, the cost of bringing the son of former City man Alf-Inge Haaland would be huge. But for some fans, he would be worth every penny.
