NWAS employee arrested after 'high value' thefts from Manchester City's Etihad Stadium

A North West Ambulance Service employee has been arrested after tens of thousands of pounds worth of equipment was allegedly stolen from the Etihad Stadium, the M.E.N understands.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed it was investigating 'high value theft' from Manchester City's home ground.

The M.E.N. understands that tens of thousands of pounds worth of equipment and personal items belonging to City stars was allegedly stolen from the stadium over the course of several months.

A man, who the M.E.N. understands works for North West Ambulance Service, has been arrested as part of the investigation. He has since been released on bail.

NWAS said it was aware of the arrest but refused to reveal whether the man had been suspended or was continuing to work.

A spokesperson for GMP said: "The force is investigating high value theft from the Etihad. A male has been arrested and is currently on bail."

An NWAS spokesperson added: “We are aware of the arrest but cannot comment further at this time."

A spokesperson for Manchester City said: “We are unable to comment on an ongoing investigation.”
