Newly-elected president of the Nigeria Sitting Volleyball Federation (NSVF), Kayode Ladele, has said the federation will organise more competitions to revive the sport in the country.

Speaking in Abuja, Ladele said government alone cannot develop the sport, adding that the country needs private sector participation for the sport to grow.

He promised to partner with members of the board to organise more competitions in all the geo-political zones in the country

“It is our responsibility at the federation to first organise competitions, both at the zonal and the national level. The board members and I have the same mindset and purpose to make the game popular in the country. Our main target is to revive the sport; it is not an individual effort, but a collective project,” he said.

He called on corporate bodies and Non- Governmental Organisations to sponsor the Federation’s various activities.

“We will need help from philanthropists, corporate bodies, individuals and lovers of sports to support us to achieve this purpose,“ he said.

He added that he would ensure that any person with any form of disability, who wants to be a part of sitting volleyball, would be taken and trained.

Ladele was elected as the new president of the federation, while Mohammed Abba was also elected as the vice-president unopposed.
