NPFL Super Six draw, accreditation holds tomorrow in Lagos

Super Six

The draw for the 2023 season-ending Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Super Six play-off will hold tomorrow, at the corporate headquarters of GTI Group, investment partners to the league.

According to IMC’s Head of Operations, Davidson Owumi, plans for a successful play-off have reached advanced stage and the draw event would mark the official commencement of the season-ending event.

“Invitations have been sent out to our partner media organisations and dignitaries that would grace the occasion,” Owumi said.

Defending champions, Rivers United, led Lobi Stars and Sunshine Stars in Group B to reach the Super Six, while Bendel Insurance, Remo Stars and Enyimba emerged from Group A.

The play-off will hold from June 3 to 11 at the Mobolaji Arena in the Onikan area of Lagos.

NPFL Head of Communications, Harry Iwuala, disclosed that accreditation passes would be issued to media houses wishing to cover the play-off at the draw event.

He added: “We want to implore media organisations wishing to cover the play-off to send accreditation requests to the DM of the NPFL email account @NPFL NG or youdees@gmail.com on or before 6.00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1.”

Meanwhile, IMC’s Vice Chairman, Paul Bassey, has been named as the play-off’s Local Organising Committee (LOC) chairman.

Bassey is expected to bring his wealth of experience in similar positions at state, national and international competitions to ensure a successful organisation of the tournament, which determines the season’s NPFL champions.
