Novak Djokovic walks out on 'boogate' inquiry as he makes it three times unlucky for BBC interviewer

Fed-up Novak Djokovic upped and left a sit down with the BBC while still being asked a question surrounding his frustration aimed directly at the Wimbledon crowd.

The tennis superstar has often maintained a dignified stance when framed as the pantomime villain but he served up some criticism back at spectators following his frustration with an element of them on Monday night. Djokovic pasted rising star Holger Rune in straight sets but believed he was being booed but many of the crowd when they were chanting 'Rune' – in a bid to spark the 21-year-old into life.

Djokovic – as animated he'd ever been in a post-match address – let rip and claimed he spotted a chance for the Wimbledon crowd to give him pelters. He said: "I know they were cheering for Rune but that's an excuse to also boo. I have been on the tour for more than 20 years. I know all the tricks. I focus on the respectful people that pay for the ticket, and love tennis and appreciate the players. I played in much more hostile environments, trust me – you guys can't touch me."

And Djokovic elevated his grievance when he asked "Do you have any other questions other than the crowd?" The 24-time Grand Slam champion answered two more questions about the crowd and his reaction before hastily calling time on the interview after telling the BBC he had enough and wanted questions about another subject.
