Nottingham Forest vs Manchester United live early team news, TV details and score updates

Manchester United will be targeting a winning conclusion to 2023 when they face Nottingham Forest at the City Ground this evening, kick-off 5.30pm.

United, who have won each of their last 11 meetings with the East Midlands outfit, will be looking to build on Boxing Day's 3-2 win over Aston Villa and end the year on a high. The Reds fought back from 2-0 down to record an important three points against Unai Emery's side via goals from Alejandro Garnacho (2) and Rasmus Hojlund.

The task now for United is to try and string together a positive run of results. They have been guilty of committing too many false dawns so far this season.

Manager Erik ten Hag, who has beaten Forest five times during his time in charge of United, is expected to pick from the same pool of players that defeated Villa, with no members of the injured brigade expected back. It means he could name an unchanged starting line-up.

Forest, too, will also be targeting a second successive win after recording an impressive 3-1 win over Newcastle United on Boxing Day. Striker Chris Wood scored a hat-trick against his former club.

Speaking yesterday, Ten Hag said:

"To start with last: I don't think so. It will be a similar squad as we had against Villa. Mid-January we expect many players back. Mason [Mount], Casemiro, [Lisandro] Martinez,
