Nottingham Forest sent Man Utd transfer demand after James Garner comments

Nottingham Forest fans have sent a transfer message to the club after comments from former loanee James Garner.

The midfielder was a key figure in the Reds promotion to the Premier League at the end of the 2021/22 season. He played a total of 49 times in all competitions as Steve Cooper’s men sealed a place back in the top division for the first time in 23 years.

Garner is currently on Man United’s pre-season tour as he looks to impress Erik ten Hag. He missed the first two friendlies with a slight injury but could be set to play when the Red Devils take on Crystal Palace in Melbourne next week.

Ahead of that game, the midfielder has looked back on a memorable season at the City Ground. He says that it was a season that won’t be easy to top.

He told the Manchester Evening News: "Last season was a top season for me. I think it will be tough to top a season like that unless I win the Premier League."

Following his comments, Reds’ fans have taken to social media to deliver a transfer demand to United and Forest over the midfielder. The Reds already have Dean Henderson on loan from United, meaning that any deal would have to be permanent or have an obligation to buy.

Here is what fans on social media had to say:

: Come to somewhere you’re wanted Jimmy!

: You know what to do @NFFC

: Come home #NFFC

: Instead of playing second fiddle to 'superstars' at #MUFC he might aswell sign for a club where he'll get game time and also finish above said superstars. #NFFC

: Not going to happen so you may as well come home to #nffc

: Garner on a permanent with a £30m buy back option for United capped for the next two years. Simples #NFFC

: He wants to come doesn't he?

: Reports of Garner going out on loan. If James Garner goes
