Nottingham Forest's Jack Colback scored outrageous volley vs West Brom

Last Saturday afternoon, Barry Bannan scored a contender for goal of the season.

In Sheffield Wednesday’s 3-2 win away at MK Dons, the former Aston Villa midfielder found the back of the net with an astonishing effort from around 45 yards out.

We felt certain that would be the best goal from an action-packed Easter weekend in the Football League, but it turns out we may have been wrong on that.

On Monday evening, Nottingham Forest‘s Jack Colback arguably topped Bannan’s sumptuous strike with the most outrageous of volleys against West Brom.

The ginger-haired midfielder somehow found the back of the net from close to the corner flag, his swerving effort soaring into the far corner of the opposition’s net.

Colback looked shocked, as did the Forest fans who witnessed the moment of magic in the flesh.
