Nottingham Forest line up triple goalkeeper transfer after Dean Henderson

Nottingham Forest will reportedly sign Burnley goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey as well as completing a loan move for Dean Henderson this summer.

Steve Cooper looks set for a change around in his goalkeeping department next season amid the uncertainty surrounding the future of Brice Samba. The play-off hero looks set for a move away from the City Ground this summer after turning down a new contract at the club.

He has been heavily linked with a move to Ligue 1 side Lens, with reports saying that a fee of €5million has almost been agreed. It’s said that a move could happen as early as next week.

Forest have moved quickly to bring in a replacement with a loan transfer for Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson imminent. The 25-year-old is set to arrive at the City Ground on a season long loan.

But it seems that the England international may not be the only goalkeeper being added to the Reds’ squad this summer. According to the Telegraph’s John Percy, Burnley goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey is also "expected to join" the club.

The Burnley man played second fiddle to Nick Pope last season before Pope’s transfer to Newcastle United this summer. It now, however, seems that Hennessey will also be on the way out of Turf Moor.

Forest were first linked with the Wales international back in April before they secured their place in the Premier League. He has one year remaining on his deal with Burnley.

A move for the former Crystal Palace man would free up Forest’s second choice Ethan Horvath to join Luton Town on loan for the season. The goalkeeper played a total of 11 games in all competitions in 2021/22.
