Nottingham Forest injury state of play ahead of Sheffield United play-offs second leg

It's all to play for on Tuesday night as Nottingham Forest host Sheffield United in their play-offs decider at the City Ground.

The semi-final is finely balanced ahead of the second leg, with the Reds holding a 2-1 advantage. Jack Colback and Brennan Johnson found the net at Bramall Lane on Saturday to put Steve Cooper's side in the driving seat, but Sander Berge pulled one back late on to give the Blades hope.

Head coach Cooper says he has no fresh injury worries for the match on the banks of the Trent, while striker Keinan Davis made his comeback from a hamstring problem at the weekend. However, Forest do still have a couple of players sidelined, so here's a look at the state of play.

Hamstring.

The striker had only recently returned from an ankle sprain when he suffered another injury blow. He was forced off barely 15 minutes after coming off the bench in the 1-0 win at Peterborough United last month. Initially, he was due to miss the games against Fulham, Swansea City and Bournemouth at least, but was then ruled out for the rest of the campaign as he faces a six to seven-week lay-off.

Prior to facing the Swans, he said: “He won’t feature again this year, in terms of games we may or may not have to play. It’s looking at about a six to seven-week injury. Obviously we’re close to being a week into that now.

“It’s unfortunate for him. It was great that he was back in the mix and was starting to up his game time, and then unfortunately he’s had another set-back. That’s unfortunate for him and us.

“His future isn’t something that anybody is focusing on at the moment. The main focus with Lewis is getting the immediate treatment that is needed with these injuries to help the longer-term rehab.
