Nottingham Forest fume at Gary Neville's 'mafia' jibe as club 'consider' SUING Sky amid PGMOL war

Nottingham Forest are 'considering' SUING Sky after Gary Neville said they wer behaving like a 'mafia gang' in the wake of their astonishing statement on VAR Stuart Attwell.

Forest have been slaughtered for their reaction to not getting three penalties in their weekend defeat at Everton as the Toffees claimed a vital three points in their relegation battle at Goodison. Almost immediately after the game, the City Ground outfit released a statement claiming they warned Professional Game Match Officials Limited that Attwell, who was on VAR duty, was a fan of relegation rivals Luton Town and wanted him replaced.

They claimed to be considering their options after refusing to accept the calls that went against them. But they have since been pilloried by figures throughout the game for their response. Forest have former Premier League whistler Mark Clattenburg working for them in a consultancy role, and he doubled down on the club's claims in a controversial Daily Mail column, in which he failed to acknowledge his association with the club.

Now the FA and Premier League are set to throw the book at the two-time European Cup winners. But that hasn't deterred them and now they have their sights on Manchester United legend and high profile Sky pundit Neville. The Mail reports that Forest are in the process of drafting a letter to the broadcaster.

Neville said after the Everton game: ‘It’s like a mafia-gang statement. I mean, honestly, what the hell are they playing at? It’s like a petulant child, it’s embarrassing. And some of those things they’re saying in there, the suggestion of some sort of inferring of cheating because there’s an official in VAR in Stockley Park who’s a Luton fan is a scandal, and they will pay for that.’
