Nottingham Forest face fight to keep defender with four clubs interested

Nottingham Forest could lose a defender before the window closes, with four teams all keen to sign Mohamed Drager as reported by journalist Walid El Mechri.

The 25-year-old has played across Europe so far in his career, featuring for Freiburg, Paderborn and then Olympiacos. After looking fairly solid for the latter of those sides and making ten appearances, he was then snapped up by Forest and given a chance at the City Ground.

However, despite signing for the Championship side over the summer, he has yet to even feature in a game for the English club. Now, with no appearances to his name, he could be on the move again only six months into his tenure at the City Ground.

That’s because there are reportedly four clubs all keen to try and snap him up this month. Much like in the rest of his career, those four clubs come from across Europes with offers to go to France via Saint Etienne and Caen, Standard Liege believed to be keen to take him to Belgium and Rijeka eyeing a move to bring him to Croatia.

If Forest do want to let go of their player, then they won’t be short of options in terms of selling him on. With all four sides keen to do business, it could end up down to who offers the most and which option Drager likes most.

If he isn’t going to get game-time in England, then a move away could be the best option for him this month – and it could be ‘take your pick’ for the defender before the window closes.

The Verdict

Mohamed Drager has looked solid in the past and Nottingham Forest do have themselves a decent defensive option with the player but he just isn’t getting a look-in with the club’s first-team.
