Nottingham Forest could agree Liverpool and Bayern Munich transfers ‘by the weekend’

Nottingham Forest are said to be working on deals for full-backs Omar Richards and Neco Williams as Steve Cooper looks to continue to add to his squad.

It is increasingly likely that right wing-back Djed Spence, who impressed on loan with Forest last season, is on his way to Tottenham this summer. That leaves the Reds on the lookout for a replacement as well as continuing to strengthen in preparation for the Premier League.

According to the Athletic , Cooper has identified the full-back positions as a key area to strengthen over the transfer window. The Reds have already been linked with a number of players in the position, with the club holding interest in Man City’s Issa Kabore.

Forest have also been linked with Liverpool’s Williams and Bayern Munich’s Richards. The Athletic say that the club are ‘working on’ permanent deals for the two players and are hoping that agreements can be reached for the duo ‘by the weekend’.

The report adds that Forest are also ‘keen’ on signing Huddersfield’s left-back Harry Toffolo, who could be available for as little as £2.5 million due to having just one year remaining on his deal at the John Smith’s Stadium. Toffolo played the full 90 minutes of the play-off final between the two teams back in May.

Forest are back in action for the first time at the end of this week as they take on Championship side Coventry City in their first pre-season friendly on Friday afternoon. While that game may come too early should Forest complete transfers for Williams and Richards, they could possibly be available for the next friendly against Barnsley on Saturday, 16 July (5.30pm kick off).
