Nottingham Forest complete second signing as defensive transfers close

Here are your headlines....

Goalkeeper Dean Henderson has become Nottingham Forest’s second signing of the summer transfer window.

The Reds have confirmed the arrival of the 25-year-old on a season-long loan from Manchester United. The deal does not include an option to buy the player. He follows forward Taiwo Awoniyi in putting pen to paper for Steve Cooper’s side.

Henderson will link up with his new teammates as they prepare to travel to Spain for a training camp as part of their build-up to the Premier League campaign. He could get his first run-out when Forest face Coventry City in their opening friendly next Friday.

Thirteen of his 29 appearances for his parent club have come in the league, while he secured promotion to the top tier on loan at Sheffield United and returned for a second spell at Bramall Lane following their step up.

Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Ethan Horvath has joined Championship side Luton Town on a season-long loan.

His departure forms part of what will be a major shake-up of the goalkeeping department at the City Ground. The Reds completed the signing of Dean Henderson on loan from Manchester United, with Brice Samba in line to return to France, likely with Lens.

Henderson will be Steve Cooper's first choice, with Horvath keen to get regular games to stake his claim for a place in the USA's World Cup squad, hence his move to Kenilworth Road.

Wales keeper Wayne Hennessey will reportedly replace Horvath as the Reds' number two. Horvath, 27, joined Forest on a free transfer from Club Brugge a year ago.

Nottingham Forest are close to signing Troyes defender Giulian Biancone with the player reportedly having his medical yesterday (Saturday, July 2).
