Norwich vs Man City highlights and reaction as Raheem Sterling scores hat-trick
Manchester City moved 12 points clear of Liverpool - overnight at least - with a routine victory at Norwich this evening.
City fought hard to beat Brentford in the week to make it 14 league games unbeaten and keep Liverpool nine points adrift of them in the Premier League table. Pep Guardiola spoke before this trip to Norwich that City must try and win every game remaining this season to prevent Liverpool from catching them, and will expect a professional, focussed performance at Carrow Road this evening.
Guardiola was without Jack Grealish for the trip after he picked up a shin injury in training this week, and he made five changes ahead of the midweek return to Champions League action. Norwich started brightly, and hit the post in an entertaining first half, but as soon as Raheem Sterling curled home a lovely effort, there was only going to be one winner.
Phil Foden scrambled home a second two minutes after half time to end any Norwich hopes of clawing the game back, and Sterling nodded into an empty net from Ruben Dias' nod-down to kill the game. Guardiola used the lead to give James McAtee and Liam Delap some more senior minutes - plus a Premier League debut for Kayky - as City moved to 15 Premier League games unbeaten and 12 clear again at the top. Sterling completed his hat-trick late on, scoring the rebound as his late penalty was saved.
