Nortje leaves Delhi Capitals, returns to SA due to 'personal emergency'

South Africa's Anrich Nortje has left his Indian Premier League (IPL) side Delhi Capitals and returned to South Africa due to a "personal emergency".

The Capitals confirmed the news in a short statement, saying the Proteas fast bowler would not be available for Saturday's encounter against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The statement said: "Owing to a personal emergency, Delhi Capitals fast bowler Anrich Nortje had to leave for South Africa late on Friday night.

"He will be unavailable for this evening's game against Royal Challengers Bangalore."

Nortje has picked up seven wickets in eight games this campaign.

In his absence, the Capitals beat RCB by seven wickets on Saturday.
