Northern Ireland fans invited to join double tribute to Billy Bingham at Cyprus game
Northern Ireland fans are planning a double tribute to legendary former manager Billy Bingham.
Bingham - who died this week at the age of 90 - led his country to successive World Cup final appearances in 1982 and '86.
He also played at the 1958 finals in Sweden, writing his name into Northern Ireland 's proud football history.
Bingham gifted the Green and White Army countless memories during his time at the helm, and many of those supporters will pay tribute to the great man during Sunday's Nations League game against Cyprus at Windsor Park.
The Amalgamation of Official Northern Ireland Supporters Club is urging fans to wear a retro shirt at Sunday's game, evoking memories of some stellar kits its from yesteryear.
A minute's applause will also be held in the 58th minute, recognising Bingham's contribution to the 1958 World Cup finals in Sweden.
The Amalgamation tweeted: "Following the sad news of the passing of Billy Bingham, we're encouraging the Green and White Army to wear a retro shirt as a tribute at the Cyprus match.
"We're also asking everyone to join in a minute's applause in the 58th minute as a mark of respect, recognising Billy's contribution as a player at the 1958 World Cup."
