'No way' - Man City fans react to Pep Guardiola's brutal Liverpool comments

Pep Guardiola was clearly very happy with Manchester City's 5-0 defeat of Newcastle on Sunday, a win that moved his side three points clear of Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table.

City bounced back from midweek Champions League heartbreak in impressive style, perhaps going some way to explaining why Guardiola was less guarded than usual when carrying out his post-match media duties. Speaking in the tunnel immediately after the game, Guardiola was asked about the state of the title race, but no one expected the spicy response he gave.

"Everyone in this country supports Liverpool, the media and everyone," Pep said. "Our destiny is in our hands, this is important.

"Liverpool has an incredible history in European competitions... not in the Premier League because they've won one in 30 years."

In fairness to Guardiola, in the context of the whole interview, he didn't appear to intend any digs at Liverpool. Regardless, City fans on Twitter could not get enough of what the boss had to say.
