'No reason why' - Former Man City player tips Arsenal to win Premier League title

Former Manchester City defender Danny Mills believes the Premier League is Arsenal's to lose.

City go into the weekend five points short of Arsenal at the top of the table, but can temporarily close that gap and pile pressure on their rivals with a win at Crystal Palace on Saturday, 24 hours before Mikel Arteta's side head to Fulham. A humbling 7-0 defeat at Liverpool looks to have all but ended Manchester United's remote title hopes, leaving a two-horse race for the final 13 games.

One of those 13 will see Pep Guardiola's side host the Gunners at the Etihad in what could be a crucial game at the end of April, but Mills believes the North London side will go on to claim a first title in 19 years after coming though the inevitable tough period in which they went three league games without a win.

“Yes [it is a two-horse race],” Mills told Sky Sports News. “It’s Arsenal or Manchester City – they’re not both going to fail. One of them might. Obviously, if City fail, Arsenal win it. If Arsenal fail, City win. But I can’t see them both collapsing at this stage.

“It would be unprecedented if that happened. Can City afford to lose one more game? Maybe one. If they win 11 and lose one, it might be very, very tight.

“If they lose that one to Arsenal, that’s going to make it really, really difficult. That game is going to be absolutely vital. But it’s Arsenal’s to lose at this stage of the season. They’re on a fantastic run [and] they’re top of the league for a reason.

“At the moment, they’re the best team in the league. They’ve still got a few games to go but there’s no reason why now, after they’ve come through a little bit of a sticky patch, that they can’t go on
