Nine players could miss Man City vs Arsenal as Kevin De Bruyne injury update given

Manchester City face an anxious wait on Kevin De Bruyne, who limped out of the Champions League draw with Inter Milan.

City face Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday in a showdown that could have a huge say in the eventual destination of the title. So the sight of talisman De Bruyne limping off at half-time against Inter was a worrying sign, especially when he didn't emerge for the second half.

Pep Guardiola said he didn't know what the issue was immediately after the game and that De Bruyne will be assessed in the coming days. City have an extra day to prepare for the Arsenal game, with the Gunners in Italy on Thursday for a Champions League clash with Atalanta.

This is the latest injury news from City and Arsenal:

Kevin De Bruyne

De Bruyne picked up his injury when racing into the area late in the first half vs Inter, with goalkeeper Yann Sommer blocking his cross and making contact in the process. He tried to walk off the issue but then required treatment from physios after dropping to his knees. And he didn't emerge for the second half, as Phil Foden replaced him.

Guardiola said of De Bruyne on Wednesday: "I didn't speak with the doctors yet. I will have more info tomorrow. The way they defend, I was thinking after 35 minutes that I wanted to make this substitution. After the doctor said to me that Kevin was not ready to play but I was ready to make this substitution anyway."

The manager is likely to give a more detailed assessment of De Bruyne's injury when he faces the media on Friday.
