The 2022 World Cup qualifier between rivals Ghana and Nigeria remains finely poised.

After a 0-0 draw in Kumasi on Friday, two of African football’s heavyweights head for the Moshood Abiola National Stadium with it all to play for.

There was little to split them in the opening leg, albeit Moses Simon went the closest for the Super Eagles, who also saw a penalty decision overturned by VAR.

With away goals still in play, it’s a slight advantage for Ghana. Do so much as score and all of the pressure is on a Nigerian side who crumbled under the weight of expectation at the African Cup of Nations.

For Ghana, Roma forward Felix Afena-Gyan is confident he has recovered from the injury to have forced him off in the first-leg.

Nigeria did closest last time out and, while playing in front of a raucous home support can go either way, looked the most likely to book their place in Qatar on Friday.
