Bayern vs Villarreal: FC Koln fan invading Allianz Arena pitch is just bizarre

It was an evening of intoxicating drama at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday as Bayern Munich were shockingly dumped out of the Champions League by Villarreal.

Julian Nagelsmann’s charges suffered an unexpected exit from the competition after a late goal from Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze handed Villarreal a 2-1 aggregate triumph.

The thousands of Bayern fans packed into the stadium couldn’t believe their eyes as Unai Emery’s men snatched an unlikely semi-final berth in the dying seconds of the game.

However, something even more unbelievable would unfold after the disappointed hordes had departed the ground.

With the Allianz Arena almost deserted, an apparently drunk supporter of Bundesliga rival FC Koln made his way down through the empty stands in a wobbly fashion.

Alcohol and physically demanding feats rarely mix well – and so it seems to have proved on this occasion.

In footage posted to Twitter by ESPN reporter Archie Rhind-Tutt, the fan is seen going over on his ankle after leaping down to ground level.

“In bizarre scenes at the Arena, a drunk FC Köln fan (yes, FC Koln) has just invaded the (very empty) pitch. It took him a while but he got there,” wrote Rhind-Tutt alongside the clip.

It looks like a painful spill, but it quickly becomes clear that the gentleman has a clear motive behind his bizarre invasion – and isn’t going to be denied.

Quiz: Can you name these UEFA Champions League final stadiums?

Hobbling towards the pitch, the fan eventually reaches the playing surface where he drops to his knees and replicates the 2016 celebration of Koln striker Anthony Modeste after he scored an acrobatic kung-fu kick effort against Bayern at the Allianz Arena.

It’s quite the scene – and you can check it out for yourself
