Nicolas Raskin makes Celtic final promise as midfielder wants to prove Rangers 'are the better side'

Rangers midfielder Nicolas Raskin has made a promise to the Ibrox side - vowing to prove that they are "better" than Celtic with a Viaplay Cup final win next week.

The Old Firm duo lock horns at Hampden Park once again as they aim to secure the first major domestic trophy of the season in the hunt for the treble. Admittedly, Rangers' quest for three trophies is looking more bleak thanks to their nine-point deficit at the top of the Scottish Premiership, but momentum could be picked up with a win in Glasgow.

The Gers have only won two major trophies in 11 years since their demotion to League Two, which Rangers fans felt strongly about with a banner in the 3-0 win over Livingston on Saturday afternoon. But Raskin has promised Rangers fans that they will show who is the better side under the lights at Hampden next weekend - adding that he 'can't wait to see the atmosphere' of his first Old Firm derby.

He said: "Everybody is talking about the cup final! I am really excited about this and I can't wait to be there and to feel the atmosphere of our fans - and to show everybody that we are better."

Raskin impressed once more at the Tony Macaroni, and has slotted into the midfield role perfectly alongside Glen Kamara amid Rangers' midfield injury crisis with Ryan Jack, Malik Tillman and John Lundstram all on the treatment table.
