Nico Hulkenberg makes exciting prediction ahead of new Formula 1 season

Nico Hulkenberg has said that Formula 1 is on the way to ‘being really sexy again’ with him reflecting on the drama we saw at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix back in December in the process.

The sport is entering an exciting new era for 2022 with brand new cars hitting the track with totally overhauled regulations.

Indeed, things are clearly growing in terms of popularity away from the track, too, with the sport revealing record viewing figures over the course of the 2021 season and also another year of growth in terms of engagement and audience.

Clearly, F1 is looking healthier than it has for some time and the Aston Martin reserve driver has echoed that sentiment with his own thoughts:

“The 2021 F1 season ended with a real bang. Rarely there has been such a media response after a race, with sports fans around the world discussing the controversial, historic final round in Abu Dhabi,” Hulkenberg wrote on his Linkedin blog.

“In my opinion, this rousing finale was no coincidence, much more the sum of several parts that have developed over the last few years. F1 is on its way to being really sexy again.”

For ardent Formula 1 fans like us, there’s always been huge interest in the sport but it’s great to see new faces coming to the Grands Prix and simply watching on television, getting to see in the process how good the top level of motorsport can be at its best.

Hopefully, 2022 is an even better with great drama but perhaps a little less controversy.
