Nick Kyrgios: Wimbledon fan set to take legal action for his outburst

Nick Kyrgios took part in his first Grand Slam final earlier this year when he took to Centre Court at Wimbledon, although the Aussie didn’t get that maiden crown he so desperately wanted, he entertained us all in typical Kyrgios fashion.

He was defeated by Novak Djokovic in four sets after Kyrgios took the opener to secure another major crown to cement his place as an all-time great of the courts.

It wasn’t to be for Kyrgios who had his usual outbursts at supporters, umpires and his team, with one tirade against a spectator going viral at the time.

There was someone on the front row who was shouting out during the match, in support of the Australian, although he wasn’t keen on Ania Palus’ support.

When venting his frustrations, Kyrgios ranted about Palus, saying: “There’s no other bigger occasion and they did it again and it nearly cost me the point. She’s drunk out of her mind so kick her out. I know exactly who it is – she’s the one who looks like she’s had about 700 drinks.”

On the other hand, Palus herself wasn’t impressed as she was removed from Centre Court, thankfully for her, after proving she wasn’t drunk, she was allowed to return to her seat for the remainder of the action.

Now, over a month on, she is taking legal action for defamation against Kyrgios, accusing him of a ‘reckless and entirely baseless allegation’ against her.

A statement from her Solicitors saw her say: “Not only did this cause considerable harm on the day, resulting in my temporary removal from the arena, but Mr Kyrgios’ false allegation was broadcast to and read by millions
