Nicholls impresses again, Thomas delivers quality, but Huddersfield Town lose to Doncaster

Danny Schofield’s pre-season preparations carried on this afternoon at the Eco-Power Stadium where Huddersfield Town played Doncaster Rovers and fell to a 1-0 defeat. After kick-off was delayed for 35 minutes Town eventually kicked off on a very hot afternoon in which both teams had to manage the heat.

The Terriers dominated the game but eventually lost to a penalty conceded after a raft of substitutions saw every first team player replaced. Loick Ayina lost possession and lunged into a challenge, the subsequent penalty converted by a Doncaster trialist.

Town themselves came close first half as Danny Ward and Josh Koroma both tested the goalkeeper from range. The Terriers were on top throughout the first 45 minutes but couldn’t get the breakthrough.

So another 90 minutes in the tank, a note on those who played. Just a quick explainer, no actual marks or rating on a pre-season game for the players, just a line on how they performed on a very sunny afternoon in Donny.
