NHL: Man gets marriage proposal brutally turned down on big screen

Asking for your better half’s hand in marriage is one of the biggest moments in anyone’s life, the anxious build-up, the excruciating wait for an answer, all leads to either the highest or lowest moment in your life.

For some people they will go to considerable lengths to make sure the moment is right, whilst others will do it on a whim. Some may spend months and months of planning, but all have the same aim, to get that special someone to say a simple three letter word, yes.

The biggest risk is asking in public, if the answer is yes then you get to share your amazing moment with everyone around, or you can pop the question in a special location. However, if the answer is no, then the humiliation in a public setting will be brutal.

One man braved all during a recent clash in the NHL between the New York Islanders and the Panthers, using the infamous kiss cam to seize his moment and get down on one knee to ask his partner to marry him.

He did so by removing his shirt which revealed a message on his body which read: “PLZ SAY YES YES YES.” Unfortunately, he didn’t get that response, or even anything close, with his girlfriend rejecting the proposal before fleeing the scene. You can only imagine thinking how he was feeling in that moment, absolutely brutal.

You can see the look of bewilderment on the face of the man, whilst still down on one knee, watching his girlfriend flee the scene of the crime with others just looking on in complete shock at what had just happened.
