NGF president, PGAN director reward 14E PGAN Q’Schools’ winners

PGA of Nigeria Executive Director, Dr. Tony Philmoore (left), congratulates 14th Q’School final examination overall winner, Emmanuel Olusegun of Ikoyi Golf Club, at the end of the event held at Python Golf Club, Port Harcourt…at the weekend.

Emmanuel Olusegun and Rachael Danjuma went home with cash rewards following their victories at the just concluded 14th Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) of Nigeria Qualifying School (Q’School) final examination held at Python Golf Club, Port Harcourt.

Aside from a N600, 000 cash from the NGF President, Otunba Segun Runsewe and PGAN Executive Director, Tony Philmore, they also got other presents and pledges from corporate bodies.

The breakdown had the men’s event winner, Olusegun of Ikoyi Club 1938 Golf Section pocketing N250, 000 courtesy of Runsewe, while Philmore gifted him a N100, 000 as reward.

Danjuma of IBB International Golf and Country Club, Abuja, the women winner, got N200, 000 from the NGF president and N50, 000 from the PGAN executive director, just as Runsewe promised both winners a year kitting sponsorship deal.

Earlier at the opening ceremony, Philmore had pledged a N100, 000 cash for the men’s event winner and N50, 000 for the women winner, while Runsewe’s gesture was right on the spot.

An elated Olusegun described the reward as an elixir to work harder on his game, saying, “I want to thank the PGAN director and the NGF president for their kindness and for keeping to their pledges.”
