NFL Postseason Big Bets report: Bettor wagers $1 million on Bills to win Super Bowl
With the NFL postseason containing just three more games, it’s a good time to check in on any high-paying futures parlays or major wagers still live to any of the remaining four teams.
Some of the larger payouts in Super Bowl odds are on the Washington Commanders, who were once significant long shots but now find themselves two wins from a title.
But the biggest payout by far is well into the millions, on what for now is the largest Super Bowl wager.
Last weekend, DraftKings Sportsbook took a $1 million bet on the Buffalo Bills +550 to win the Super Bowl. That’s a potentially massive $5.5 million profit, if the Bills can notch two more victories.
Read on for more on that ticket and other intriguing Super Bowl bets tied to the final four teams.
Barstool Bettor
On Jan. 19, before the Bills hosted the Ravens in the divisional round, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy made the aforementioned $1 million wager on the Bills to win it all.
It’s the first reported seven-figure wager on Super Bowl odds, though rest assured, it won’t be the last.
At the time of the bet, Buffalo needed three more wins for it to cash. The Bills subsequently held off the Ravens 27-25 to reach Sunday’s AFC Championship Game. That cut the Bills’ odds by more than half, from the +550 Portnoy got to the current +255.
Which makes a big difference on such a big bet. If the Bills lift the Lombardi Trophy on Feb. 9, then Portnoy’s $1 million wager will net $5.5 million, for a $6.5 million total payout.
Now, at +255 odds, a $1 million bet would profit $2.55 million ($3.55 million total payout). To match Portnoy’s potential $5.5 million profit, a bettor would now have to wager $2.16 million.
