Newcastle vs Man City LIVE: Early team news plus how to watch and kick-off time

Manchester City can move to within a point of Arsenal this evening when they face Newcastle at St James' Park.

City are unbeaten in their previous four games and produced their best performance of the season before the international break as they thumped Liverpool 3-0 at the Etihad.

With Arsenal not playing until Sunday, today represents an opportunity for Pep Guardiola's side to ramp up the pressure on the early pacesetters.

Guardiola confirmed on Friday that Rodri will not be fit in time to play at St James' Park. He joins Mateo Kovacic on the sidelines but there are no further injury issues to report.

This might be only City's 12th league game of the season but it could still prove to be a huge weekend in the Premier League title race, with City and Arsenal facing tricky away clashes.

City's international contingent have returned without any fresh issues and it could mean Guardiola names an unchanged starting line-up, such was the impressive nature of their victory over Liverpool last time out. Gianluigi Donnarumma will start in goal and Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol have emerged as City's first-choice centre back pairing.

Nico O'Reilly, fresh from an England debut, has done precious little wrong and can keep specialist left back Rayan Ait-Nouri out of the side again, while Matheus Nunes can continue on the right.
