Newcastle United's key backroom addition spotted after Manchester United exit

Newcastle United's backroom team has seemingly welcomed a new recruit, as Luke Dickson looks to be settling into life on Tyneside following his departure from Manchester United where he was Lead Academy Analyst.

Rumours had circulated that Dickson was put on gardening leave at Old Trafford before sealing a move to his boyhood club.

His departure from United was made public by Dickson himself in October, and just after the weekend's triumph over Nottingham Forest, he was seen within Newcastle's dressing room, signalling his integration into the setup.

At 28 years old, Dickson leaves behind a five-year span with the Reds, in addition to professional experiences at Leicester City and Hibernian. Now part of Eddie Howe's expanding analyst team, Dickson's Newcastle appointment is aimed at strengthening the analytical capabilities behind the scenes at the club.

Dickson took to social media last month to announce his departure, expressing "After 5 unbelievable years at Manchester United, I have decided to leave the club to pursue a new opportunity.

"It has been an unforgettable period of time, with some of the best experiences of my life whilst getting to work with elite level practitioners on a day-to-day basis. There are too many people to mention but I cannot thank everyone enough."

During his tenure at Manchester United, Dickson maintained close involvement with the academy's emerging talents, devoted to honing the potential of the club's future stars.
