Newcastle United news as Toon arrive in Dubai for mid-season warm weather break

Here are the latest Newcastle United evening headlines on Saturday, March 19.

Newcastle’s next Premier League game is not until April 3rd when they make the trip to North London to face Tottenham. They have decided to take advantage of the extended break by travelling to Dubai for a warm weather training camp ahead of the Premier League run-in.

According to an update posted to the club’s website earlier today, they have arrived in the Middle East for a week-long camp which is likely to involve a mixture of training and team bonding exercises.

Eddie Howe’s side made a similar decision back in January as they travelled to Saudi Arabia, a trip which preceded the club’s drastic upturn in form. Read more here.

When the new Magpies owners took over last year, they made a number of promises to restore the feel-good factor at St James’ Park and they have started to do exactly that in their first few months.

One of those changes that were promised was to rename the infamous ‘NINE’ bar at the stadium to ‘Shearer’s’, the name it originally had when it first opened.

Newcastle confirmed, on Twitter, that the bar would reopen last night with the ‘Shearer’s’ branding over the doorway and the man himself replied in typical fashion. It was a very simple reply as he tweeted the emoji that he so often does that resembles his very famous celebration. Read more here.
