Newcastle United may have issue in relegation fight if Eddie Howe can't fix one area

Newcastle United have the second worst record in the Premier League for picking up cards - which might indicate their clumsiness when defending, or might indicate their fighting spirit.

According to figures from , Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United have the worst record in the Premier League, having been shown 62 cards this season - 61 yellows and one red.

League leaders Manchester City meanwhile have picked up half that number, with just 31 cards, bettered only by Leicester City on 27 cards.

have picked up 57 cards, including a red card for Ciaran Clark in the 1-1 home draw against Norwich City and one for Jonjo Shelvey in the 3-2 loss at home to Tottenham Hotspur.

The full table of cards picked up for each team is as follows:

Leeds United: 62

Newcastle United: 57

Injured Isaac Hayden is on five yellows and has already had a one-match suspension, but is no longer in the 25-man squad so is in no danger.

Jamaal Lascelles, and Matt Ritchie are all on five, having already served one-match suspensions, and are at the greatest risk over the next ten games.

Joelinton, Allan Saint-Maximin, Jonjo Shelvey and Callum Wilson are all on four.
