Newcastle United are finally thought to have agreed a deal with French club Lille for the services of their young Dutch defender, Sven Botman. Various journalists and news media outlets are reporting that a €37 million offer has been accepted, with personal terms not posing any issues. Reports also suggest that Botman will have his medical next week before being unveiled as a Newcastle player.

This marks another significant signing under Newcastle's new ownership, with the Magpies fending off competition from Italian champions AC Milan to acquire the highly-rated Dutchman.
