Newcastle United fans love Bruno Guimaraes and Jamie Reuben exchange after Southampton win
Bruno Guimaraes thanked his ‘boss’ Jamie Reuben following Newcastle’s dramatic 2-1 win against Southampton.
The £33million midfielder has had to wait for his chance to impress since arriving in January, with Eddie Howe gradually introducing him to the rigours of English football. Patient Toon fans have only seen a glimpse of Guimaraes - who has four caps for Brazil - in Newcastle colours but were fully introduced to his talents last night. The former Lyon man showcased an abundance of South American flair with a brilliant backheel finish to secure all three points.
After the game, Guimaraes celebrated with the travelling Toon support who made the 650-mile round trip to St Mary’s. His performance caught the attention of co-owner Jamie Reuben from the director’s box and the two exchanged pleasantries at the full-time whistle.
Supporters were quick to express their joy in the comments after another dramatic night, with some still starstruck by the new-found relationship between the ownership and the players.
