Newcastle now handed boost as image emerges out of Darsley Park

Eddie Howe has been handed a big boost as a Newcastle United ace has been pictured back in training after missing the last match.

Newcastle fell to a third straight defeat on Sunday when they were embarrassed 5-1 away to Tottenham Hotspur, although results involving the teams below them have seen the gap to the bottom three still look fairly healthy with a seven-point buffer.

Howe decided to make a few changes from the Magpies’ defeat away to Everton, which was their last match before the international break and one of them included Miguel Almiron, who missed out due to illness after being away with his national side.

Ahead of Friday’s crunch clash at home to Wolves, though, Almiron has now been pictured back in training with the first team, which should hand Howe another valuable option.

TIF Thoughts on Almiron…

The Paraguayan international has had a frustrating time of things since Howe took over and is now no longer someone that starts regularly – something he had become almost accustomed to from when he first joined the club having already racked up 115 appearances for the Magpies.

When Almiron was starting regularly for Newcastle, his agent often talked up the attacker and about how he had reported interest from clubs on the continent, but now considering he can’t even start games, his future is certainly up for debate, but more in terms of being pushed out the door instead of leaving of his own accord.

However, despite Almiron not being someone that is trusted enough to start a lot of games under Howe, he’s an experienced player in the Premier League and a long-time member of the squad. And with his pace – he was clocked as the second-fastest at the club last season – he remains a useful weapon for Howe to have.
